Leads and jobs
Audience: Contractors · 6 min
Prerequisites
- A mybuildx account with Contractor ID (leads live on your profile and dashboard)
- A claimed directory profile on ContractorsNearMe.ai
The lifecycle
Lead statuses move in one direction: new, contacted, qualified, converted or lost.
- New. A property owner researching costs on buildx.pro contacts you, or a bid invite lands. The lead carries context: service, estimated low/high, quality tier.
- Contacted. Call within minutes. Owners who just learned their fair range are ready to talk scope. Log the call on the lead.
- Qualified. Confirm scope, site access, timeline, and budget fit. Disqualify fast and the pipeline stays honest.
- Converted. Create the job from the lead. The estimate, proposal, schedule, and invoices inherit the scope lines.
- Lost. Record the reason (price, timing, fit). Lost reasons feed your win-rate review.
From job to paid
- Estimate. Procore-style line items with markup, then export a proposal PDF.
- Proposal. Offer Good/Better/Best with allowances so owners choose tier, not contractor.
- Job. Schedule crews, track photos and messages, manage change orders with signatures.
- Invoice. Progress invoices tied to milestones, retainage tracked, QuickBooks sync.
Done when
- Every new lead is contacted the same day
- Converted leads become jobs with inherited scope lines
- Invoices reference milestones, not memory
